In yet another example of surreal events today, we discovered an art show in Sheffield that is bizarrely based on Quatermass' control room.
The event, at BLOCspace on Eyre Lane, is organised by a group called a.a.s. who remained elusive. I managed to spak to a member of staff who said that this exhibition had been planned long ago, and was not an attempt to 'cash in' on the disaster. The group have been following Quatermass' work for some time, and are reputedly "intrigued by the types of threat he comes up against".
In an interesting twist, part of the installation was a TV showing BTV News - serendipity for them since it regularly features the Rocket Group's own room. Quatermass was not able to comment on the show, although one of his team was heard saying "we might as well get the artists in, they'd probably do as much good as us..."
So we are left asking the question: " Does art or science have all the answers?". Who can tell us what's REALLY going on?
